Archbishop Casey offers condolences after Minneapolis Catholic school tragedy

Archbishop Robert G. Casey of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati issued a statement in response to a recent tragedy at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In his message to the community, Archbishop Casey expressed solidarity with those affected.

“Our hearts are one with the families of Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis as they grieve and begin to process the senseless tragedy that occurred today. Let us pray for all those impacted, especially those who were injured or lost their lives. May Our Lady of Peace intercede for us and assist us in the care of our children and families,” said Archbishop Casey.

The Archdiocese of Cincinnati serves nearly 440,000 Catholics, making it the 45th largest Catholic diocese in the United States. Its school system enrolls over 41,000 students, ranking fifth largest among Catholic school systems nationwide. The archdiocese encompasses 19 counties with 199 canonical parishes grouped into 57 Families of Parishes and operates 111 primary and secondary schools.
