Benedictine University student Chris Radomski has been selected to join the USA Deaf Men’s National Volleyball Team and will compete at the Deaflympics in Tokyo, Japan, this November. Radomski previously played with the team at the Deaf World Championships in Okinawa last summer.
The USA Deaf Volleyball program has a long history, with the women’s team participating in every Deaflympics since volleyball was added to the event in 1969. The men’s team did not participate in the 2021 Deaflympics in Brazil but was reestablished in 2023 as interest in men’s volleyball increased.
Head Coach John Macko and Assistant Coach Ben Campman have led the team to recent successes, including a second-place finish at the 2025 US Open and fourth place at the Deaf World Championships—the best result for the men’s squad so far. The current roster is among the youngest in international competition, with an average age under 25.
Campman highlighted Radomski’s dedication and skill on the court. Mike Stevens, who coaches men’s volleyball at Benedictine University’s Lisle campus, also recognized Radomski’s work ethic and leadership qualities.
