Walsh University held its Spring Commencement Ceremonies on May 3 at the Gaetano M. Cecchini Family Health and Wellness Complex, celebrating the Class of 2025. President Dr. Tim Collins addressed the graduates, stating, “This is the moment that this University has been built for.” The event marked a significant milestone for 634 graduates from 31 states and 13 countries.

The ceremonies recognized graduates from various schools within the university, including the Gary and Linda Byers School of Nursing, the School of Behavioral and Health Sciences, the DeVille School of Business, and the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education. President Collins encouraged graduates to move forward with purpose: “Graduates, you have been formed in faith, shaped through rigorous academics, and inspired by the example of the Brothers of Christian Instruction.”

During the ceremony, Walsh University awarded its Distinguished Service Medal to North Canton for over six decades of partnership. Mayor Stephan B. Wilder accepted on behalf of the city and emphasized community collaboration: “Our partnership is a testament to what can happen when a city and a university grow together.”

Keynote speaker Samantha Kelley urged graduates to face future challenges with faith-based courage. She drew parallels between their journey and biblical stories: “You have a choice as you step onto the battlefield of life...step forward in faith.” Kelley shared her personal experiences as an athlete to inspire resilience among graduates.

Isabelle "Izzy" Rammel also addressed her peers as a commencement speaker. As a recipient of the Tower of Excellence Award, she advocated for integrity in leadership amidst societal divisions: “At Walsh, we didn’t erase our convictions to get along—we chose to bring our whole selves into community.” Rammel will continue her education at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

The event concluded with congratulations extended to new members joining Walsh University's Alumni Association.
