Amy Nall has been named the new superintendent of schools for the Archdiocese of Louisville, following her appointment by Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre, to take effect July 1. Nall currently serves as the assistant superintendent of Catholic schools for the Archdiocese.

"She is deeply committed to academic excellence and her experience in strategic planning and school accreditation will be of great assistance to our schools," said the memo announcing her appointment.

Nall will replace Dr. Mary Beth Bowling, who has been appointed vice chancellor for administration by Archbishop Fabre, also effective July 1.

Nall's career in Catholic education spans 37 years, including roles as assistant superintendent for four years, high school administration for 17 years, and teaching for 16 years. She has taught English at Holy Rosary Academy, Mercy Academy, and Sacred Heart Academy, as well as in the master’s teaching program at Spalding University. Her administrative experience includes serving as assistant principal of Sacred Heart from 2004 to 2020 and a year as interim principal.

As assistant superintendent, Nall has been involved in overseeing school accreditation and developing initiatives such as the Catholic Schools Office internal quality assurance process, the New Teacher Mentorship Program, and various leadership cohorts.

Nall possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in English and journalism education from Ball State University, a Master of Arts in teaching, and an Education Specialist degree in educational administration, both from the University of Louisville.

She has been active at St. Agnes Church for 37 years and serves as an Ursuline Associate.

"The search committee affirmed her commitment to enhancing the Catholic identity of schools as well as leadership and expertise in designing professional development opportunities and mentoring school leaders," the announcement stated.

Nall is married to Pat, and they have three adult children and two grandchildren.
