Walsh University's Cavathon, an annual dance marathon organized by students, has successfully completed its 11th year, raising over $34,000 for Akron Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network. The event took place on April 5, from noon to 8 p.m., welcoming students, families, and patients to celebrate the fundraising achievements.
Participants engaged in various activities throughout the day, including live music, dancing, Zumba, games, and competitions such as tug-of-war. Additionally, a fundraising initiative known as the "jail" activity added to the day's events. Nine Miracle Kids were present to share their stories, highlighting the positive impact of the fundraising efforts. Notably, eight Walsh University students joined the Comma Club, each raising over $1,000. Mackenzie Roach from Stark State College also participated in the event.
Corporate sponsors contributed to the event's success, with support from KebCo, Buckeye Credit Union, and Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway. Walsh University expressed pride in the commitment to service shown by its students, emphasizing the importance of compassion and action in supporting Akron Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network.
