Walsh University has announced the finalists for the T.O.W.E.R. of Excellence Award, an honor given annually to seniors or recent graduates who exemplify leadership, dedication to the campus and community, a commitment to the university, core values, and extra-curricular distinction. The award is presented at the university's President’s Dinner.

The 2025 finalists are Marquette Fikes, Luke Goers, Eleanor Mondok, Justin Nienaber, and Isabelle "Izzy" Rammel.

Marquette Fikes from Akron, Ohio, pursued a major in Accounting. Engaged in several campus activities, including as Treasurer of the Black Student Union and President of the Accounting Club, Fikes stated, "Walsh has helped me grow in my spiritual journey and focus on a plan for life after college." He aims to work in public accounting post-graduation while pursuing his CPA license.

Luke Goers, a Psychology and Criminal Justice major from Cardington, Ohio, contributed significantly to the university’s residence life and student community. "My time at Walsh has been incredibly impactful," said Goers, who plans to take a gap year before starting a graduate program in Forensic Psychology.

Eleanor Mondok, hailing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, balanced majors in Psychology, Pre-Occupational Therapy, and Music. Active in pro-life initiatives and campus ministry, Mondok commented, "Helping others to reach their full potential is a true calling for me." She intends to pursue a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy at Walsh.

Justin Nienaber from Cincinnati, Ohio, studied Chemistry Pre-Professional and Biology. A captain in Track and Field and actively involved in campus service, Nienaber plans to attend Northeast Ohio Medical School, specializing in pediatrics. "Walsh’s tight-knit community, grounded in Christian values, helped me build lifelong relationships," he noted.

Isabelle "Izzy" Rammel, pursuing Government & Foreign Affairs and Theology from Greenville, Ohio, led the Pre-Law Club and authored a thesis on rural attorney shortages. Set to attend The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law, Rammel remarked, "I’ve been inspired by the way people show up for each other."

The award recognizes students who embody leadership, campus involvement, commitment to university values, and distinction in their extracurricular activities. These finalists are celebrated not just for their academic achievements, but for their active roles in fostering community and service at Walsh University.
