The Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti Catholic High School Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Teams are gearing up to compete in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) State Championship. Both teams are preparing to travel to Hershey to contend for their respective titles at the Giant Center.
The Boys’ Basketball Team is set to play Hershey High School for the PIAA 5A Championship. The match will take place on Friday, March 28, at 8:00 p.m. The Girls’ Basketball Team will face Lansdale Catholic High School for the PIAA 4A Championship on Saturday, March 29, at 12:00 p.m.
Ahead of their departure, the Neumann Goretti community will host a Pep Rally in the school gymnasium. The event, scheduled for Friday, March 28, at 2:00 p.m., will see school cheerleaders welcoming the athletes as their names are announced.
The Boys’ team enters the finals with an 18-11 record this year. The team is making its 11th appearance in the state finals and has previously won nine state titles, the last in 2022. They reached this point after defeating Upper Moreland High School in the 5A Semifinals, having earlier claimed the District XII 5A Championship by winning against Roxborough High School.

The Girls’ team has an overall record of 25-4. They won the 2025 Philadelphia Catholic League Championship by defeating Archbishop John Carroll High School. Their win over Universal Audenried Charter High School in the 5A Semifinals has brought them to the state finals, seeking their sixth PIAA title in program history after last reaching the finals in 2022. The team remains unbeaten in PIAA State Championship Games with a 5-0 record.
