Six months after graduating, nearly 91 percent of St. John’s University’s Class of 2024 is either employed or pursuing further education. This outcome underscores the university's dedication to preparing students for life beyond academia.
“St. John’s University graduates remain a top choice for employers in the current competitive labor market, locally and nationally,” said Ellen Burti, Assistant Vice President for Career Services. “Our students’ career paths lead them to multiple employers spanning industries from government and nonprofit to business, health care, and education. For those who choose to continue their education in graduate and professional programs, St. John’s graduates are represented among top colleges and universities nationwide.”
Graduates have secured positions across various sectors at well-respected companies and organizations. Now part of an alumni network exceeding 200,000 members, they have joined leading firms in business, finance, technology, health care, and government.
The health care sector continues to be significant for many graduates who find opportunities at renowned institutions like NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Northwell Health. In business, notable employers include EY, IBM, PwC, Protiviti, and Starr Insurance. Graduates have also entered media and entertainment with positions at NBCUniversal, the New York Mets, Madison Square Garden, and Penguin Random House. Those interested in legal and public service sectors have joined the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, New York City Council, and New York Police Department.
For those opting for advanced degrees, members of the Class of 2024 have been accepted into prestigious graduate programs at institutions such as Cornell University, Columbia University, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania; Duke University; the University of Michigan; the University of Notre Dame; as well as St. John’s itself.
These achievements reflect the effectiveness of a St. John’s education in preparing students for success in both professional careers and academic pursuits. The university's Career Services department supports this process by providing career advising services including skill development workshops and job search strategies.
As these graduates make their impact globally, St. John’s remains committed to equipping future generations with necessary skills and resources for excellence whether they choose immediate employment or further studies.
