Rev. James D. Conley, D.D., S.T.L. | Diocese of Lincoln website
The Marian Sisters of the Diocese of Lincoln are set to host a Holy Week retreat for single young women aged 19-32. This event will take place from April 17-19 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly.
The retreat, focusing on the Sacred Triduum, aims to help participants deepen their faith through meditation on Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection. It begins on Holy Thursday at 6:15 p.m. and concludes on Holy Saturday at 1:30 p.m. During this time, attendees will have the opportunity to reflect on the Lord’s love and mercy while considering His call in their lives. The retreat is rooted in the Marian Sisters’ charism, “To do God’s will joyfully in imitation of Mary and Saint Francis,” providing a setting for prayer, contemplation, and community.
Established in 1954, the Marian Sisters serve in Catholic schools throughout Nebraska and also work at St. Gianna Women’s Homes, Villa Marie School, and the Diocesan Chancery offices.
The cost for attending the retreat is $30 for students and $40 for adults. Registration can be completed by visiting www.mariansisters.org or by contacting Sister Amy Marie, M.S., via email or phone.
Additional retreats at Good Counsel include a "Back to the Garden" women's retreat with Sarina Stokes and Father Cole Kennett from April 4-6; "Compassion in the Passion" with Father John Rooney from April 11-13; "The Power of a Praying Mother" with Natalie Giford and Kristin Schiff from May 9-10; as well as several Ignatian retreats scheduled between March and May with various facilitators including Father Gary Coulter, Matt Simmons, Father Christopher Barak.
