Iona University has announced a partnership with Unitex to establish the Unitex Scholarship for Nursing Leadership. This scholarship, funded by Michael Potack, Chairman of Unitex, aims to support students pursuing a Master of Science degree in Nursing Healthcare Organizational Leadership at Iona University.

Unitex, a family-owned medical uniform and linen services company, demonstrates its commitment to healthcare through this collaboration. The scholarship is intended to empower nurses by enhancing their leadership skills for pivotal roles within healthcare organizations.

Michael Potack expressed his enthusiasm for supporting Iona's program after visiting the Kelly Center for Health Sciences. He stated, "My goal is to help the next generation of leaders in navigating and addressing the challenges they face in today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape."

Dr. Shery Watson from the NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences emphasized the importance of this scholarship in overcoming financial barriers and improving diversity among future healthcare leaders. She remarked that it equips nursing leadership students with essential resources needed for success.

Unitex has been providing medical uniform and linen services for over 100 years and operates 13 facilities across the northeast United States. It employs more than 2,000 people and serves over 7,500 healthcare customers.
