In Washington, Bishop Robert Barron recently highlighted the importance of fidelity and love in marriage as a beacon of hope for all generations. He stated, “In today’s world, relationships are often viewed as disposable. The commitment to fidelity and love that marriage entails is a source of hope for all generations.” He emphasized its role as "an antidote to the loneliness and discouragement of many young people today" and urged prioritization by both the Church and society.

National Marriage Week USA and World Marriage Day offer an annual opportunity for the Catholic Church to emphasize the vocation to marriage and family life. This year, National Marriage Week USA will be observed from February 7-14, with World Marriage Day falling on February 9.

The theme for this year's National Marriage Week celebration is “Source of Hope, Spring of Renewal. Pursue a Lasting Love!” It underscores the virtue of hope that aligns with Jubilee Year 2025. Bishop Barron noted, "National Marriage Week reminds couples that their commitment is a sign and source of hope for the future and a spring of exemplary love that reverberates through generations.”

Throughout National Marriage Week, digital content will be available on USCCB’s social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Resources prepared by the USCCB are also accessible for dioceses. These include materials like a flyer/bulletin insert, an at-home marriage retreat guide, lectio divina for couples, preaching resources, and social media graphics in both English and Spanish.
