St. John the Apostle Parish in Lincoln is set to host its annual community barn dance on Saturday, February 22. The event, which is open to individuals aged 21 and over, will take place from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Seven Willows Barn located at 7600 Panama Rd., Hickman.
The evening will kick off with dance lessons at 6:30 p.m., followed by the main dance starting at 7 p.m. Participants can expect a variety of dances including line dancing, swing, polka, and two-step. The music selection spans from the 1950s to contemporary hits. Snacks will be available along with a cash bar for attendees.
Parishioner Kate Haden initiated the idea for the barn dance last year with an aim to create an enjoyable experience for various age groups. The previous event successfully drew in 200 guests. Haden expressed her desire for people "to experience something that our culture has lost over the years: people coming together to dance in a fun and totally wholesome way."
Tickets are priced at $11 per person and must be purchased online through stjohnslincoln.com/barndance. The event is sponsored by St. John’s Knights of Columbus and Altar Society.
