St. John’s University has achieved notable recognition in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings for its online Master of Science (M.S.) business programs, offered through The Peter J. Tobin College of Business. The programs have moved up to 39th place nationally among over 200 non-M.B.A. evaluated programs, marking a rise of 13 positions from the previous year.
The university's online Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) programs also received commendation, ranking 46th among more than 350 schools assessed by U.S. News.
Maciek Nowak, Ph.D., Dean and Joseph H. and Maria C. Schwartz Distinguished Chair at Tobin, commented on the achievement: “Our continued ranking among the top 50 of online graduate programs reflects the incredible efforts on the part of our faculty to create a transformative educational experience for our M.S. and M.B.A degree students.” He further noted that these rankings highlight "the growing breadth of career outcomes for the graduates of these programs."
Tobin offers a variety of online options including a 36-credit M.B.A. program with 17 concentrations and seven out of ten available Master of Science degree programs such as Accounting, Actuarial Science, Enterprise Risk Management, and Taxation.
The evaluation criteria used by U.S. News & World Report for their 2025 rankings included student engagement, peer assessments, faculty credentials, student excellence, and available services and technologies.
Additionally, St. John’s School of Education was recognized in the top half out of more than 300 online Master's in Education programs using similar evaluation metrics.
