American Principles Project (APP) has reached out to congressional Republicans, advocating for the support of Rep. Nancy Mace’s Protecting Women’s Private Spaces Act. This legislation aims to restrict biological males from accessing female-only facilities on federal property.
The letter, endorsed by 30 conservative leaders, emphasizes the importance of maintaining spaces exclusive to women for privacy and safety reasons. The statement reads: “As Speaker Johnson said last week, ‘Women deserve women’s only spaces.’ Biology matters, and it is important for women to have female-exclusive facilities both to protect their privacy and also to deter potential predators."
The letter further cites public opinion in favor of such measures. According to a Napolitan News Service/RMG Research poll, 75 percent of registered voters oppose allowing "biological males who identify as women" access to women's locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms. Only 13 percent are in support. Similarly, a YouGov poll across battleground states found significant voter support for requiring transgender individuals to use restrooms corresponding with their birth gender.
Last week, APP also distributed a memo among House and Senate Republican offices outlining the political rationale behind excluding biological men from women's private spaces within locations like the U.S. Capitol.
