Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. Bishop | Archdiocese of Louisville
In anticipation of the 2000th anniversary of Christ’s death and resurrection, as well as the first Pentecost in 2033, Bryan Cain and John Sohl are spearheading a prayer initiative. Known as the Great Novena, this nine-year endeavor aims to "foster a Catholic Church in Louisville that is on fire for God, full of families young and old, and working together in unity to serve our communities with the mind and heart of Jesus," according to an official announcement.
Cain and Sohl are actively seeking lay Catholics to assist them in organizing this spiritual effort. An information session about the initiative is scheduled for May 18 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Assumption’s Patterson Education Center, located at 424 S. Fifth St.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to RSVP by contacting Cain at 330-413-4320 or Sohl at 428-6757. Light refreshments will be provided during the session. For more details about the Great Novena, visit greatnovena.com or send an email inquiry to john@greatnovena.com.
