The voices of Walsh University will resonate in Washington, D.C. as the Walsh University Chorale prepares to take part in the National Memorial Day events. Led by Britt Cooper, DMA, the Chorale will pay tribute to the fallen heroes of the nation through music.
"We are honored and blessed to represent Walsh University as we perform at one of the most prestigious venues in the United States. What a wonderful way to commemorate the fallen and celebrate our veterans through music," said Britt Cooper, Coordinator of Visual and Performing Arts and Professor of Choral Music.
The Chorale's participation will include a performance at the National Memorial Day Parade where they will sing the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" at the opening ceremony. Cooper has been selected to lead this significant performance, a tradition among festival chorus directors.
In addition to the parade, the Walsh University Chorale will showcase their talents at various events throughout the Memorial Day weekend. This includes a performance at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and a collaboration with a 300-voice mass choir at the Kennedy Center in the National Memorial Day Choral Festival.
The Chorale's itinerary also includes visiting Arlington National Cemetery, touring memorials and monuments, and attending the National Memorial Day Concert on the Capitol lawn.
The Walsh University Chorale extends its gratitude to the generous benefactors who have made this trip possible.
