The Department of Media, Design, and Communication recently held its inaugural Arts and Media Showcase on April 26, 2024, to highlight the creative talents of students on campus. According to the Department of Media, Design, and Communication, "Your efforts have made the event successful, and you are all Shining Stars!"
The event featured students from various disciplines such as writing, media and design, art, theater, and music, who showcased their creativity and skill. As part of the showcase, the department introduced the first Arts and Media Awards to inspire students to submit their creative works for recognition and prizes. The Department also expressed their gratitude, stating, "Congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding contributions to Marian University's arts and media community. Your talent and dedication are truly commendable!"
The Arts and Media Awards recognized various categories and winners, including Mariangel Morales Aparicio, Sylvia Vanderburgh, Noah Richards, Abby Meinhart, Ethan Brubaker, Simon Collins, Hailey Ready, Bethany Worrell, Emma Hendrix, Jamie Blane, Elijah Givens, Amari Fields, John Harley, Lucas Stierwalt, Cecilia Doyle, Judah Gustafson, Katie Droese, Mikayla Jette, Jack Flinsbaugh, Vanessa Ochoa, Emily Reyes, among others.
The winners were acknowledged for their exceptional contributions, with first, second, and third place recognitions in categories like Critical Essay Writing, Poetry, Short Fiction, Nonfiction, Photography, Podcasting, 2D Art, 3D Art, Graphic Art, Acting, Instrumental Performance, and Vocal Performance.
