Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre has announced several new clergy appointments set to take effect on June 19, 2024. Among the appointments, Very Reverend Anthony L. Chandler will take on the role of pastor at Holy Spirit and St. Leonard Churches while maintaining his positions as vicar for clergy and director of the Office of Priest Personnel.

According to the official announcement, Father Chandler, a Louisville native, has an extensive background in serving various parishes within the Archdiocese of Louisville since his ordination on May 27, 1989. His appointment will coincide with the conclusion of his responsibilities as rector of the Cathedral of the Assumption.

In addition, Reverend Shayne R. Duvall will assume the position of pastor at St. Frances of Rome Church while retaining his role as pastor of Holy Trinity Church. Similarly, Reverend Frederick W. Klotter will transition to the position of rector at the Cathedral of the Assumption, marking the conclusion of his term as pastor of Holy Spirit Church.

Deacon Matthew Millay, slated for ordination as a priest on June 1, 2024, is set to serve as associate pastor at Holy Spirit and St. Leonard Churches. Furthermore, Reverend Steven D. Henriksen will take on the role of associate pastor at St. Frances of Rome Church while continuing his duties at Holy Trinity Church.

The Archbishop's office also mentioned that recommendations for the pastorship of Holy Rosary Church in Manton, Ky., and Holy Trinity Church in Fredericktown, Ky., will be forthcoming from the Dominicans.

These appointments signify a significant reshuffle within the clergy of the Archdiocese of Louisville, with each individual bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to their new roles.
