Jordan and Lindsey Meyer, a couple based in Colwich, have embarked on a unique venture that combines their love for each other, coffee, and their pro-life beliefs. Their journey from a first coffee date to the launch of Fiat Coffee, a pro-life coffee business, has been one fueled by passion and dedication.
Lindsey expressed their initial dream, saying, "We dreamed about owning a coffee business... What we really didn’t know was how that might come to fruition." The couple's search for a coffee business that aligned with their Catholic values led them to the idea of starting a pro-life coffee business, as Lindsey mentioned, "We decided we needed to find a coffee business that aligned with our Catholic values... a pro-life coffee business."
The Meyers' hard work and dedication paid off when they purchased their first roaster, leading to the birth of Fiat Coffee. Jordan reflected on their journey, stating, "When we started roasting, we hoped we could have drinkable coffee by January. But it happened much sooner." The business, which started with a Marian theme, aims to support pro-life causes and promote the dignity of life and marriage, as Lindsey explained, "Our mission with Fiat Coffee is to support local pro-life businesses, to help fund natural family planning courses, and just to promote the dignity of life and marriage."
Their commitment to ethical practices is evident in their choice to use Fairtrade Certified organic coffee, ensuring the support of farmers and their communities. The couple's children, despite not being coffee drinkers, are actively involved in the family business. Jordan shared, "Our kids are very invested and excited about it."
The Meyers' business has not only been a professional endeavor but also a unifying force in their marriage. Lindsey expressed, "Working alongside each other has been really unifying for our marriage." Jordan highlighted the significance of their work in promoting marriage and life values, stating, "Talking to engaged couples about marriage, the dignity of marriage, and how to respect that as Catholic couples is 'powerful for us.'"
With their growing business and unwavering commitment to their values, Jordan and Lindsey Meyer exemplify the blend of passion, love, and purpose that drives their pro-life coffee venture, Fiat Coffee.
