Lincoln, Nebraska - The Nebraska Catholic Nurses and the Lincoln Catholic Medical Association have announced plans to host a retreat for healthcare providers on April 27th. The event, titled "Physician Heal Thyself," aims to provide healing for healthcare professionals, enabling them to extend that healing to their patients.
According to Dr. Carla Ericksen, communications director for the Lincoln Guild CMA, the retreat will focus on participants receiving healing from God and then allowing that healing to flow from their hearts to their patients. The day's activities will include Mass, breakfast, a talk, Eucharistic adoration, and the availability of prayer teams and confessions.
The keynote speaker for the retreat will be Father Matthew Rolling, academic dean at St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward. Sister Faustina Lightfoot praised Father Rolling's expertise in ethics and forming individuals to fulfill their God-given potential, allowing God to work through them in their ministry.
Dr. Ericksen highlighted the goal of creating a community for faithful Catholics through the retreat, emphasizing the importance of Catholic health practitioners coming together in their mission to be the embodiment of Christ's love and healing to those they encounter.
The Nebraska Catholic Nurses group, established last year, aims to support Catholic healthcare providers in living out their faith while delivering excellent care in line with the teachings of the Church. The retreat seeks to revitalize the spiritual needs of healthcare workers and strengthen their commitment to their ministry.
Healthcare providers interested in attending the retreat can sign up online, with free-will donations being accepted. For inquiries, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
