The recent Eucharistic Revival event hosted by the Crete Deanery Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) in Nebraska was a resounding success, drawing in over 200 participants from various parishes. The event, which took place over 40 hours, culminated in a closing ceremony at Sacred Heart Church in Crete on March 10, featuring guest preacher Father Angelus Montgomery, CFR.
Donna Havlat, president of the Crete DCCW, shared that the inspiration for the event came from Trudy Burenheide, president of the Lincoln Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, who encouraged parishes to mark the Eucharistic Revival happening across the U.S. Havlat expressed gratitude for the support received from parishioners, priests, and the community in organizing the event.
Ann Jansky, a participant at the event, described it as "uplifting" and "spiritual," noting its perfect timing in the midst of Lent. Father Christopher Stoley, pastor of Sacred Heart, commended the collaboration between the parishes and CCW, attributing the event's success to the dedication and efforts of all involved.
Father Stoley also highlighted the importance of the event in combating the lack of belief in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist among Catholics. He expressed his excitement about the community-driven initiative and praised the devotion and deep faith exhibited by attendees throughout the event.
Reflecting on the impact of the Eucharistic Revival event, Father Stoley concluded, "Jesus is alive and well in Crete, Nebraska... Christ will conquer, and this event was a major boost in his reign." The event served as a significant milestone in fostering spiritual growth and devotion within the Crete Deanery, underlining the power of collective faith and dedication to the Eucharist.
