Walsh University’s Office of Veterans Affairs recently welcomed the U.S. Air Force recruiting team for a specialized training event aimed at rejuvenating their commitment to the organization. The training, which covered various facets such as leadership, mission, and core values, sought to reinforce the importance of recruiting for the Air Force.
During the training session, President Tim Collins, a retired U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, expressed his gratitude to the team for their service and offered words of encouragement. He compared the challenges they face to "mission impossible" scenarios but praised their resilience and ability to overcome obstacles. Dr. Collins highlighted the significance of sharing their experiences with young people, emphasizing the value of hard work and determination in inspiring the next generation to strive for excellence and service.
Staff Sergeant Avery Hale, a key figure in organizing the training program at Walsh this year, focuses on raising awareness among high school students about military service and its benefits. In addition to her youth outreach efforts, Sergeant Hale provides support to veterans and active-duty personnel navigating their transition to civilian life, guiding them on how to utilize their military benefits for further education at Walsh University.
