Couples who were married at Sacred Heart Church in Cedar Hill are being encouraged to share their wedding photos for an upcoming summer celebration to mark the 145th anniversary of the church's founding on June 7.
Louise Bauer, treasurer of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, initiated the idea of displaying wedding pictures of couples married at Sacred Heart as a way to commemorate the strong family history within the parish and generate excitement for the June 7 celebration.
In a call for submissions, it was stated that names and photos of couples married at the parish are being sought for the picture display. People are invited to send in wedding pictures of their own weddings or of family members who tied the knot at Sacred Heart Church. Submissions should be emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and must include the wedding date and the couple’s names, including the bride’s maiden name. All entries must be received by May 1.
Among the couples who have already been highlighted is Andrew and Rose (Vyhlidal) Kucera, who were married on Oct. 12, 1926.
The parish's forthcoming celebration promises to be a heartwarming event that not only honors the longstanding tradition of marriage within the Sacred Heart community but also serves as a reminder of the enduring bonds that tie families together through generations.
