Congratulations to three Marian University alumnae who have been recognized for their outstanding work as Certified Public Accountants (CPAs). Mary Riggle '80, Donna Niesen '95, and Maddie Kurcz '19, all alumni of Marian University's accounting department, were honored by the Indiana Certified Public Accountant Society (INCPAS) in November.

The INCPAS awarded 28 finalists and winners, with eleven percent of the finalists and fourteen percent of the winners being Marian graduates. Mary Riggle, who is a CPA and CGMA at Donovan CPA, won the prestigious Women to Watch Award. Donna Niesen, a CPA at KSM, received the Advocacy Award. Maddie Kurcz, who is now an assistant professor of accounting at Marian University, was named a finalist for the Emerging Leaders Award.

In announcing the awards, INCPAS President and CEO Courtney Kincaid, CAE, expressed admiration for the honorees, stating, "The achievements of those we honored are genuinely inspiring, showcasing an incredible capacity for accomplishment. Their success lights up the future, making the entire night exceptionally rewarding and uplifting."

Kincaid further mentioned, "The CPA community is grateful for the opportunity to bring their stories and successes to light." These awards not only recognize the talent and dedication of the awardees but also serve as a source of motivation for aspiring accountants.

The recognition of these three accomplished individuals highlights the impact and influence of Marian University's accounting program. The university takes pride in producing graduates who excel in their careers and contribute to their professional communities.
