The Archdiocese of Louisville has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing its fundraising goal for the annual Catholic Services Appeal, marking it as the largest appeal in its history at $4,190,571. Melissa Herberger, who leads the campaign, expressed, "We have surpassed last year, which was the largest CSA ever."

Donations to the Catholic Services Appeal play a crucial role in supporting over 100 ministries and services that impact every parish within the archdiocese. As of April 5, the appeal had exceeded 102 percent of its $4.1 million goal, with 59 parishes reaching their targets and 18 others at 90 percent or higher. While the campaign goal has been achieved, contributions can still be made until June 30.

Herberger, the coordinator for annual giving and stewardship, highlighted the diverse support received, stating, "We have kids giving and people up to 97 years old — people from all over the archdiocese." She mentioned instances where individuals, inspired by the appeal's work, contributed for the first time, emphasizing the broadening reach and impact of the initiative.

Molly Keene Smith, the director of the archdiocese's Office of Mission Advancement, emphasized the appeal’s comprehensive reach within the parishes, stating, "It supports every facet of parishes in central Kentucky — every parish, every ministry." Keene Smith expressed gratitude to pastors, parish staff, and parishioners for their role in the appeal's success, echoing sentiments on behalf of Archbishop Shelton (Fabre).

A fully funded Catholic Services Appeal enables the local church to expand its mission and bring Christ to more individuals, as highlighted by Herberger, who remarked, "Anytime we can bring Christ to more people — it doesn’t get any better than that." The dedication and generosity of the community have played a pivotal role in the appeal's success, setting a new record for fundraising within the archdiocese.
