The St. Mary Parish “FunRaising Committee” in David City is organizing a Christmas tour of homes on Sunday, December 14. The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m., with participants gathering at Aquinas Elementary School for instructions before being divided into five groups to visit local homes decorated for the holiday season.
Connie Novacek, a member of the committee, said, “It was a fun event and well attended,” referring to a previous church tour held by the group. “So this year we thought we would go with a Christmas theme and do a tour of homes.”
After touring the homes, attendees will return to the school gymnasium where cheesecake and flavored coffees will be served. There will also be Christmas decorations available for purchase, and door prizes will be awarded to those present.
A suggested free-will offering of $20 is requested for participation. Those interested in attending are asked to reserve tickets by calling or texting 402-367-9539. Carpool arrangements can be made when reserving tickets.
Proceeds from the event will support renovations of the rectory at St. Mary Parish.
