Christian Brothers University (CBU) has announced that Vice President Ryan Flickinger and donors Bob and Paula McEniry have received recognition from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Memphis Chapter. The honors, part of the annual AFP Memphis Crystal Awards, acknowledge their contributions to philanthropy and community advancement.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 13 at the Memphis Botanic Garden. Ryan Flickinger has been named Outstanding Fundraising Executive for his work in fundraising and external relations spanning over two decades. As Vice President for Advancement & External Relations at CBU, Flickinger oversees advancement, alumni engagement, communications, marketing, and career services. He is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) with experience in campaign planning, donor stewardship, and planned gifts.
Brother Chris Englert, Interim President of CBU, said, “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ryan very closely in my time as CBU’s Interim President. He is a valuable member of my Executive Team with his ingenuity and steady demeanor. His strong work ethic and strategic thinking have been instrumental in laying out a framework for the future of CBU.”
Margaret McDonald, CBU Development Officer, commented on Flickinger’s impact: “His remarkable achievements in revenue growth, team building, community engagement, and navigating challenges have set a new standard for excellence at Christian Brothers University.”
Under Flickinger’s leadership, CBU has seen a 40% increase in revenue. He has also secured over $30 million in philanthropic investments for the university.
Bob and Paula McEniry will receive the Outstanding Philanthropists award. Bob McEniry is a Trustee Emeritus at CBU and a member of the Benefactors Circle. Together with his wife Paula, he has supported scholarships, campus improvements, and student programs.
The university extended congratulations to all honorees for their commitment to philanthropy in Memphis.
