Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. Bishop | Archdiocese of Louisville

The Archdiocese of Louisville has announced a series of "Safe Environment" training workshops scheduled for June. These sessions are mandatory for all church employees or volunteers who have any contact with children or youth aged 18 and under.

According to the archdiocese, the purpose of the "Safe Environment" training is to ensure that "children and youth who worship, study or participate in church-sponsored activities can do so in the safest and most secure setting possible."

The workshops will last two hours each, and attendance is required for those involved with minors in any capacity. The specific dates for these sessions are available on the archdiocese's website at www.archlou.org/safe. It should be noted that registration is not necessary to attend these workshops.

Additionally, individuals under the age of 16 are not permitted to attend, and there will be no child care services provided during these sessions.
