The Institute for Leadership Development at Christian Brothers University has concluded its Emerging Leadership & Innovation Certificate Program, marking the graduation of 50 professionals. These individuals have enhanced their leadership skills through this educational initiative.

The program included 16 modules that combined both face-to-face and virtual learning experiences. Key areas covered were strength-based leadership, emotional intelligence, team effectiveness, conflict management, and cross-generational communication. Participants could complete any eight modules to earn their certificate, with sessions arranged in half-day formats to suit working professionals.

This program's success highlights the increasing need for practical and accessible leadership development tailored to today's workforce.

Notable features of the program included an innovative curriculum with topics such as coaching for development and managing virtual workforces. Experiential learning was emphasized through award-winning simulations like “Patient Zero” and “Leadership and Team Simulation: Everest.” The format was flexible, offering a mix of in-person and virtual sessions from January through May. Qualified participants had the opportunity to earn MBA course credit. Full scholarships were available for leaders from organizations within Shelby County employing 12 or fewer employees.

Additionally, many graduates participated in an Executive Coaching Program featuring eight one-on-one sessions focused on discovering authentic leadership voice, enhancing self-awareness, building resilience, and aligning personal values with professional goals.

This milestone demonstrates CBU’s commitment to developing future leaders within the Memphis business community and beyond.
