Franciscan University of Steubenville has appointed Patrick Flannery as the new Vice President of Finance, effective May 2025. Flannery joins with extensive experience in financial leadership, having previously served as Vice President for Finance and Treasurer at Hillsdale College, Michigan for 14 years, as part of over two decades in the field.
While at Hillsdale, Flannery oversaw a substantial institutional budget exceeding $200 million, contributed to strengthening the college's financial status, significantly grew total assets to over $2 billion, and increased its endowment to $1.1 billion. His responsibilities also encompassed capital planning, risk management, and financial strategies development for graduate programs and capital endeavors.

In his role at Franciscan, Flannery will offer strategic guidance across the university's finance and business sectors, enhancing financial operations, and supporting long-term planning aligned with the "Be Light" Strategic Plan.

Flannery holds a bachelor's in accounting from Michigan State University, and an MBA focused on finance and accounting from Regis University.
