Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez | Archdiocese of Philedelphia

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has introduced a video series titled “Faces of Hope,” which is designed to showcase Catholics in the Philadelphia region who are motivated by their faith to perform remarkable acts of service. Starting April 2, this series will be available every two weeks on CatholicPhilly.com and across the Archdiocese's social media platforms.

"Faces of Hope" is an extension of the Trust and Hope initiative launched by Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez. This initiative was outlined in a Pastoral Letter that was made available in multiple languages. The series aims to demonstrate the positive contributions made by Catholics in the Philadelphia area by connecting faith with service.

The launch of the series highlights Archbishop Pérez’s emphasis on re-establishing connections with the Catholic faith. According to reports, approximately 83% of baptized Catholics in Philadelphia no longer attend weekly Mass.

A core element of this outreach strategy is the development of "Missionary Hubs" over the next ten years. These hubs aim to engage those who have ceased attending weekly Mass and also reach out to non-Catholics, ultimately fostering stronger connections within the parish community and encouraging participation in service opportunities.
