Taraja Brown, a junior at The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies, has been named the first recipient of The Dr. Robert Tomes Humanitarian Scholar Award. This annual award honors students who demonstrate a strong commitment to community service, aligning with the University’s Vincentian mission.

The award was established in memory of Robert R. Tomes, Ph.D., a respected professor, historian, and mentor known for his dedication to education and social justice. Dr. Tomes inspired many students with his passion for humanitarian work and his contributions to academia.
