Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has issued an order to halt the distribution of abortion drugs at Planned Parenthood facilities in the state. This decision follows a warning from Bailey's office, indicating that Planned Parenthood did not have an approved plan for managing complications associated with these high-risk medications.
The action was taken after a New York Times article highlighted concerns about Planned Parenthood's practices, citing incidents such as botched abortions and inadequate care conditions. Sue Liebel, state affairs director for SBA Pro-Life America, criticized Planned Parenthood's operations and supported Bailey's decision.
"Planned Parenthood has become a multi-billion-dollar abortion giant, ending the lives of nearly 400,000 unborn children a year and taking in $2 million a day from taxpayers, all while flouting laws that protect health and safety," Liebel stated. She also expressed concern over reports of moldy equipment and failure to report trafficking cases involving minors.
Liebel further noted issues in Illinois where she claims women are coerced into abortions without proper medical oversight. "The FDA’s own label states abortion drugs will send as many as one in 25 women to the emergency room," she added.
She praised Missouri's leadership for taking a stand against what she referred to as the "Big Abortion Industry." "We’re thankful Missouri has strong pro-life leaders like Attorney General Bailey," Liebel said.
SBA Pro-Life America is committed to ending abortion by supporting pro-life political candidates and advocating for protective legislation.
