Franciscan University of Steubenville has incorporated the Purposeful Lab series into its Faith and Reason platform. Originally produced by the Magis Center, Purposeful Lab delves into the purpose inherent in the universe and human lives. The show is hosted by Dr. Daniel Kuebler, a biology professor at Franciscan University, who engages with scientists, philosophers, and theologians to discuss issues affecting the understanding of God, the universe, and life.

The latest season examines the nature of man and woman. Each episode features Kuebler alongside a guest expert discussing what it means to be male and female, addressing biological, theological, and philosophical aspects of sexuality and gender.

“I’m excited Franciscan University will continue the Purposeful Lab show on their Faith and Reason platform. The show examines cultural issues related to ultimate purpose and meaning in light of the wisdom of the Church and the knowledge gained through the various academic disciplines,” Kuebler stated. “Moving the show to the Faith and Reason platform provides an excellent opportunity to highlight Franciscan’s world-class faculty and other experts from around the world as they discuss a host of culturally relevant issues. I feel honored to be a part of this new endeavor.”

This season's guests include Dr. Stephen Hildebrand, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Franciscan University; Dr. Rashad Rehman, philosophy professor at Franciscan University; Dr. Deborah Savage, theology professor at Franciscan University; Dr. Abigail Favale from McGrath Institute for Church Life; Dr. Paul Hruz from Washington University School of Medicine; and Dr. Andrew Sodergren from Ruah Woods Psychological Services.

Besides Purposeful Lab, Faith and Reason offers free videos and podcasts covering topics like Church culture, politics, philosophy, spirituality, and living joyfully in Christ.
