Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly is set to host a three-day weekend retreat inspired by Neal Lozano’s book, “Unbound: A Practical Guide to Deliverance.” The event will be led by Father William Holoubek and aims to help participants overcome barriers in their relationship with God.
The retreat, open to both men and women, will commence on Friday, January 31, with a rosary and Mass at 8 p.m. It will conclude on Sunday, February 2, following lunch at noon. Attendees will explore the five keys of Unbound—a practical model designed to embrace freedom and Gospel truth. These keys include Repentance and Faith, Forgiveness, Renunciation, Authority, and The Father’s Blessing.
Throughout the weekend, Unbound Ministry prayer teams will be available to assist participants in applying these principles to their personal stories. To prepare for engaging with the prayer teams effectively, attendees are encouraged to read the first nine chapters of the “Unbound” book or watch its video series.
The retreat offers a structured approach for spiritual renewal and healing, providing an opportunity for individuals to confront obstacles to divine mercy and gain renewed peace and purpose.
Further information about Unbound Ministry or registration details can be found at lincolndiocese.org/unbound.
Additionally, Our Lady of Good Counsel has several upcoming retreats scheduled. These include a winter symposium with the Lincoln Diocesan Council of Catholic Women on January 10-11; “Women’s Spiritual Exercises” from February 6-9 with Regnum Christi and Father Jason Brooks; as well as various Ignatian retreats featuring Father Gary Coulter among others throughout December through February.
Retreats cater to both men and women and are available in-person or online. Scholarships are offered for those interested. More details can be obtained by contacting 402-786-2705 or visiting goodcounselretreat.org.
