The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia has announced its schedule for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Masses. Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will lead the 5:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Vigil Mass on December 24, 2024, at the Cathedral Basilica.
Catholics in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia are invited to celebrate the Nativity of Jesus Christ at this event. The Mass will be available for viewing via a live stream on the Archdiocesan Vimeo website and on Facebook pages belonging to both the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Archbishop Pérez.
In addition to the 5:00 p.m. service, there will be a second Vigil Mass at 7:30 p.m., conducted in both English and Spanish with music from a Cantor and Organist. At 11:00 p.m., attendees can enjoy Sacred Music and Carols performed by the Cathedral Basilica Choir before Midnight Mass.
On Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, Reverend G. Dennis Gill will preside over the Solemn Midnight Mass at midnight, which will also be streamed online with music provided by the Cathedral Basilica Choir and Instrumentalists. A Solemn Mass is scheduled for noon, featuring similar musical accompaniment.
Additional services include an 8:00 a.m. Mass with a Cantor and Organist and a 10:00 a.m. service featuring music from the Cathedral Basilica Schola. No evening mass is planned for Christmas Day.
