Benedictine University and the Diocese of Joliet have announced a new partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration aims to enhance Catholic education and create direct pathways to higher education for students within the Diocese.
The agreement ensures that graduates from Diocese Catholic high schools, including Benet Academy, Bishop McNamara Catholic School, IC Catholic Prep, Joliet Catholic Academy, Montini Catholic, Providence Catholic, and St. Francis, will receive guaranteed admission to Benedictine University.
Eligible students will be awarded a $3,000 Catholic High School Award and considered for up to $18,000 in merit-based scholarships depending on academic performance. These financial incentives aim to make a Benedictine education more accessible and affordable for graduates of Diocese Catholic high schools.
A spokesperson noted that "the Guaranteed Admission Program partnership between the Diocese of Joliet and Benedictine University provides our Catholic high school students a streamlined and affordable college option close to home." The program is designed to keep students engaged with the church while offering financial support for those seeking quality Catholic college education.
Representatives from Benedictine University expressed their enthusiasm for the initiative: "Benedictine University is thrilled to join the Diocese of Joliet in this transformative partnership. Together, we’re redefining what it means to deliver exceptional Catholic education – making it more accessible, affordable, and impactful."
This partnership seeks to open opportunities for students by providing them with resources to pursue higher education at Benedictine University while remaining connected with their faith community.
