The United States and the international community have been urged to support Syria in its political transition. Bishop A. Elias Zaidan, of the Maronite Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon and chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on International Justice and Peace, emphasized this call for assistance.

Bishop Zaidan stated that Syria is beginning "a new chapter in its rich history," highlighting the importance of external support during this critical period.
