Catholic Community Services, operated by Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, is set to host its 11th annual "Operation Bundle Up" event. This community giveaway aims to provide essential winter clothing to families in need before the onset of the winter season.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Saint Martin of Tours Church, located at 5450 Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia.

Staff and volunteers from CCS will distribute winter coats, hats, gloves, and other cold-weather essentials. They will be joined by members of the Philadelphia Police Department, the Philadelphia Fire Department, American Heritage Credit Union, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.

In addition to clothing distribution, the event will feature prizes, face painting, refreshments, and visits from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. Approximately 20 vendors are expected to attend to connect families with various resources. A "free market" table offering baby clothing items and school supplies will also be available.

Last year's event saw over 1,000 winter coats and accessories distributed to nearly 450 families.

CCS serves as a Community Umbrella Agency designated by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services for dependent children and families in Northeast Philadelphia. It provides community engagement and case management services under the Youth Services Division of CSS.
