Reverend Patrick P. Duffy passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in Fairfield, Ohio. He was born on March 17, 1941, in Worcester, Massachusetts, and was baptized at St. Peter Church in Worcester. Reverend Duffy pursued his education in Philosophy at St. Joseph College in Indiana and Theology at Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Cincinnati. His ordination took place on May 25, 1974, by Archbishop Joseph L. Bernardin at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral.

Father Duffy began his service as an associate of St. Teresa Parish in Springfield on June 19, 1974, while also working part-time with Catholic Charities in the Springfield office. By December 15, 1975, he had advanced to associate director at Catholic Charities there and later became an advisor to the organization while continuing his role at St. Teresa Parish until April 14, 1977.

His chaplaincy began at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton from April 14, 1977 until September 1980 before he assumed the pastorate of St. John Neumann Parish in Cincinnati on January 29, 1981. Further appointments included pastorships at Our Lady of Victory Parish and Sacred Heart Parish among others throughout his career.

A reception is scheduled for Friday, November 15, at St. John Neumann Church located at Mill Road in Cincinnati where visitation will commence from 10:00 a.m., leading up to a Mass of Christian Burial set for the same day at 11:00 a.m., presided over by Most Reverend Dennis M. Schnurr with Most Reverend Joseph R. Binzer as homilist.

The archdiocese offers condolences stating: "May God welcome Father Duffy...into the glory of heaven."

The archdiocese invites individuals to subscribe to the Daily Divina for daily scripture meditation.
