The Rink at Franciscan Square in Steubenville, Ohio, has opened its doors for the 2024–25 ice skating season. Public skating is available starting Wednesday, November 20, 2024. The rink operates with specific hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 7:00 p.m. Special holiday hours are also planned, although these may change.

Admission fees are set at $8 for adults aged 18 and over, and $7 for those aged 17 and younger, with children under three admitted free of charge. Skate rentals are available at a cost of $5.

This season introduces "The Igloo," sponsored by The Steubenville Nutcracker Village. This facility offers non-skaters a sheltered area to watch skaters while staying protected from the weather.

Visitors can enjoy dining options at Franciscan Square eateries such as Rubi’s Pizza and Grill, Jimmy John’s, and The Harp and Habit during their regular business hours.

The rink was established as a permanent outdoor facility in 2023 through an initiative by Franciscan University of Steubenville. It is supported by Trinity Health System along with other local sponsors who contribute to this community recreation opportunity. Operating seasonally from November through February, the schedule depends on weather conditions.

Further information can be found at franciscansquare.com/ice-rink or by contacting the Skate Lodge at 740-275-8466.
