Protect Women Florida Action announced a significant victory over Amendment 4 in Florida. The defeat of the amendment, which was backed by abortion rights advocates, has been hailed as a major win for pro-life supporters in the state.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of SBA Pro-Life America, stated: “The demise of pro-abortion Amendment 4 is a momentous victory for life in Florida and for our entire country.” She credited Governor Ron DeSantis with ensuring that “babies with beating hearts will still be protected in the free state of Florida.”

The existing law protecting over 50,000 lives annually remains intact. Dannenfelser described Florida as "a beacon to the places in this country which still allow abortion after the point a baby can feel pain." She praised DeSantis' leadership and courage against what she termed "Big Abortion’s agenda."

Dannenfelser further claimed that thanks to Governor DeSantis, voters were not misled by what she described as "the abortion industry’s scheme" to profit from late-term abortions. She accused George Soros of attempting to strip parental rights and force taxpayer funding for abortions.

Despite facing more than $110 million from abortion lobbyists and media support for Amendment 4, DeSantis campaigned statewide against it. He highlighted that the measure would permit abortion at any stage and remove parental consent requirements. His administration launched campaigns to counter misinformation regarding care availability for miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy.

Governor DeSantis also rallied GOP officials across Florida to oppose the amendment's perceived extreme implications.
