The School of Education has extended its congratulations to Sandy Dellalonga, a 2023 Ph.D. graduate, for her recent publication in the Early Childhood Education Journal. The journal is known for publishing peer-reviewed articles that showcase exemplary practices in early childhood education.

Dellalonga's article, titled “Scribbling and Early Literacy Connections: How Do Early Childhood Teachers Perceive Scribbles?,” is derived from her dissertation research. Her academic work was guided by Olivia G. Stewart, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor in Education Specialties.

Currently, Dellalonga holds the position of Assistant Teaching Professor at the Sanford School of Education at National University. In this role, she teaches reading courses to future educators. She is also engaged in writing an article on integrating arts with literacy and is developing a proposal for her next research project. This upcoming study will focus on student motivation and engagement through interventions involving arts integration, visual literacy, and comprehension strategies.
