Joseph J. Foy, Ph.D. President | Benedictine University

Benedictine University recently hosted the Simposio Internacional de Medios Públicos Del Lenguaje Español (SIMPLE), marking its first occurrence in the United States. The three-day annual event aims to connect and celebrate the language, history, and culture of the Hispanic community within the country. The BenU Board of Trustees played a crucial role in bringing this symposium to their campus.

The event gathered leaders from Hispanic public media across Latin America, the Caribbean, the USA, and Europe, focusing on public and university radio stations. Each day featured a distinct theme: language on the first day, history on the second, and culture on the final day.

A special luncheon was also held during SIMPLE at Goodwin Auditorium. Jorge Familiar, Vice President of the World Bank, joined Benedictine University students, faculty, administrators, and President Foy for this occasion.
