Christian Brothers University (CBU) recently held its Alumni Weekend 2024, an event that brought together the university community for a series of celebrations and activities. The weekend began with the President’s Reception at Old Dominick Distillery, where alumni and guests gathered to honor distinguished individuals. Carolyn Henry, a 1992 graduate, received the Distinguished Alumni Award. Additionally, graduates from the Class of 1974 were recognized in a pinning ceremony.
The next day featured an Alumni Service Opportunity, where participants helped beautify the De La Salle Christian Brothers' residence on campus. This was followed by a Mass highlighting CBU's core values of community and service.
A highlight of the weekend was the World of Beers celebration, featuring six local breweries and food from One & Only BBQ. During this event, Dr. Cameron Volpe Fili, a 2013 graduate, was awarded the Distinguished Young Alumni Award.
Alumni enjoyed games and music throughout Saturday afternoon and evening. Performances by Joseph Ferrante (Class of 2020) and The Michael Brothers (Classes of 2009 and 2011) contributed to the festive atmosphere.
Kristen Crone, an Alumni Board member, remarked on the significance of reconnecting with fellow alumni: “It’s such a great opportunity for us to reconnect,” she said. “I especially loved hearing the alumni bands that we used to watch back in college.”
The success of CBU's Alumni Weekend relied on volunteers, staff, and sponsors like First Horizon Foundation and Pinnacle Financial Partners.
