Rev. James D. Conley, D.D., S.T.L. | Diocese of Lincoln website
A mother/daughter program will be presented for 9- to 13-year-old girls and their mothers or other supportive female adults on Sunday, Sept. 22, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the John XXIII Diocesan Center, located at 37th and Sheridan in Lincoln.
The program aims to provide an opportunity for mothers and daughters to explore topics related to human fertility and the process of growing up. Discussions will cover changes in a young woman’s body as it prepares for motherhood, the onset of ovulation and menstrual periods, functions of the female reproductive system, the sacredness of human life, the virtue of chastity, and include a confidential question-and-answer segment.
The event is designed to foster an atmosphere of love and learning where important topics about growing up can be discussed openly. It also seeks to establish a foundation for continued communication between parent and child.
To register for the event, visit https://lincolndiocese.regfox.com/motherdaughter. The program is open to the public but requires reservations due to limited seating. The cost is $25 per child and mother or $35 per family; virtual registration is available for $10. Each girl attending will receive a gift, and light refreshments will be served.
