Gemma Crowe, a mechanical engineering student at Christian Brothers University (CBU), has been honored as one of 253 recipients of the prestigious Tau Beta Pi Scholarship for the 2024-25 academic year. This highly sought-after award recognizes outstanding engineering students nationwide for their academic excellence, leadership, and potential to make significant contributions to the engineering field.

Crowe, an international student from the United Kingdom, has excelled both academically and in extracurricular activities at CBU. She currently leads the university’s chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) as president and is actively involved with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aero Design and Baja SAE teams.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Crowe showcases her leadership as the captain of CBU’s Division II women’s soccer team. Her commitment to gaining practical experience is further demonstrated by her summer internship as a design engineer at Southern Systems International, an industrial conveyor company.

Looking ahead, Crowe plans to pursue a master’s degree before embarking on a career in the engineering industry. Her selection for this prestigious scholarship not only acknowledges her past achievements but also highlights her potential to make meaningful contributions to the engineering profession.
