The Saturday vigil Mass at Saint Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sierra Vista saw a notable event as Bishop Edward Weisenburger and retired Bishop Emeritus Gerald Kicanas visited to celebrate Mass. The bishops announced that Pope Francis had conferred the papal honor of Chaplain to His Holiness with the title of Reverend Monsignor upon Father Greg Adolf.

Bishop Weisenburger remarked, “There was an exceptionally lengthy and very moving standing ovation by his parishioners.” He added, “We are blessed to have a vibrant and healthy presbyterate, of which Msgr. Adolf is a wonderful example.”

Monsignor Adolf expressed humility regarding the recognition, stating, “I accept this honor as an honor coming to this wonderful parish community and the super priests and deacons and lay leaders that I have been privileged to serve alongside over the years.” Monsignor Adolf was ordained in 1991.

Following the Mass, a reception was held where Monsignor Adolf celebrated with his parishioners.
