Adam Roose '26, an alumnus of both Marian University Ancilla College and Marian University Indianapolis, has been awarded the prestigious U.S. State Department International Scholarship for his studies in Japan. This marks the second consecutive year that a Marian University graduate has received this honor.
"This scholarship represents more than just a chance to study abroad—it's an affirmation of my dedication to bridging cultural gaps and pursuing my passion for Japanese business," Roose explained. "I am excited to embark on this journey to Japan and continue representing the Marian University community on the global stage."
As a management major with ambitions in Japanese business, Roose's selection underscores his dedication to cross-cultural understanding and professional growth. Supported by the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, he will immerse himself in the vibrant city of Nishinomiya, furthering his knowledge of Japanese culture and language.
Wendy Westphal, Ph.D., Director of Marian University's Study Abroad program, commends Roose's achievement and anticipates the invaluable insights he will gain during his overseas experience.
