Marian University proudly announces the graduation of nearly a thousand students across its campuses in Indianapolis, Plymouth, Nashville, and Oklahoma City. The graduating class includes students earning associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey.
President Daniel J. Elsener expressed his pride in the graduating class and gratitude towards the faculty and staff, stating, “Congratulations to the 974 graduating students and compliments to our amazing faculty and staff for leading these bright minds across the graduation finish line! Your dedication has shaped the transformational leaders of tomorrow. Give yourself and your colleagues a pat on the back.”
Marian University awarded a total of 656 undergraduate degrees, 136 graduate degrees, and 182 doctorate degrees. Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer Kenith Britt, Ph.D., commended the graduates, saying, “Not only have they consistently held themselves to the very highest of academic standards, but they have demonstrated that they are truly prepared to be transformational leaders for service to the world.”
The success of the graduating class of 2024 highlights Marian University's commitment to preparing transformative leaders for service to the world and fostering excellence in education.
The commencement ceremonies featured distinguished keynote presenters and honorary degree recipients. The May 4 undergraduate commencement ceremony included a keynote address by Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation President and CEO Claire Fiddian-Green, who received an honorary Doctor of Education degree. Additionally, John Giles and William J. Witchger were recognized with honorary Doctor of Business Administration and Doctor of Philanthropy degrees, respectively.
At the May 5 graduate commencement ceremony, Speaker of the Indiana House of Representatives Todd Huston delivered the keynote address and received an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree. James D. Pike and Janice Pike were also honored with honorary Doctor of Education degrees.
